Are you Savvy?

I am such a sucker for mail! I went to the post office today and there were 4 parcel slips in my box...I was thinking 'no way'. So I went to the counter and sure enough there were 3 packages for me (usually we just collect a number of slips for 1 parcel!) I was so excited to bring my goodies home....

  1. I got 15 rolls of adhesive for my ATG. My supplier is no longer in business so I was stocking up.
  2. I got my latest CARDS magazine
  3. I got these awesome little treats from Savvy Mom! They are called Sipahhs...the kids loved them! They are delightful straws filled with 'flavour beads' I will call them. They are also allergen free (no nuts, milk, soy...hooray!)

If you are a Canadian Mom and haven't had a chance to check out Savvy Mom yet you should...it is a great source of things to do, places to go and ideas for all of us...they even have different issues for different major markets in Canada.

I hope to have more creative adventures to share over the weekend...it's been a busy week here!
Enjoy!

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike!!!

Since the kids have grown SO much since we have moved out into the fresh country air we got them each a new bicycle to start spring off right! Well, sort of...we had to return them for even bigger bicycles than we thought!!! Our surprise didn't work out exactly as planned but the good news is they are both thrilled with their latest new bicycles and thoroughly enjoyed riding them with Martin this afternoon!

Here is Sarah showing her stuff...it was hard to get a picture of her because the new bike is SO fast!!! ;)

Now here is Sean who is showcasing his muddy pants, coat and mitten (the boy doesn't miss a beat!) He even rode directly into a snowbank...even I can't explain it...but I do know where he gets it from!!! He finished today's ride off by crashing 3 more times and breaking not just his horn but also his bell!!! Definitely my boy!!!

It is nice to see that spring is slowly waking up...at least we have had the bicycles out! Even Martin was on his today and they have another ride planned for tomorrow!

Enjoy!

Happy Easter!

Well, I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Weekend! I am sad to be returning to humdrum life tomorrow...back to work! Seems so unfair when the kids have another day off!

Anyway, we had a fabulous visit with family on Saturday and we enjoyed some great food! I made these boxes (I used my Cricut to do the cutting and I did the rest) and taped the tags one...the best part was the treat inside...each box had one of our homemade Easter Cream Eggs in it. Yummy!!!

I had planned on baking a simple spice cake for dessert (honestly!) but then the kids saw my Mini Easter Egg pan and it was all over!!! So, I took a break and decorated some Easter Eggs! The kids LOVED them!!! Aren't they delightful?

We had a great family filled weekend...although we did miss one set of in-laws that I hope we can connect with soon!

Stoney Lake Sketch

Hey Everyone! Well, it's Sunday and I have completed a sketch for you all to enjoy. I am really pleased with this one...but do not yet have a second page to do with it so I will wait in suspense with the rest of you for that! This is inspired by Pencil Lines Sketch #75 which I must say is one of my favourites so far.

This is Sean enjoying a tasty treat in Stoney Lake in 2006...I love this picture of him.

I had a great time using my new Western Sky DP on this one!

Supplies;
Paper: Western Sky DP, Basic Black, River Rock, Ruby Red, Bayou Blue
Accessories: Cricut Accent Essentials & Plaintin Font, Hodgepodge Hardware, large eyelettes

Aloha!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my March Break! I managed to sew curtains for my workshop, organize my shelves (I keep looking at them in awe as they are so tidy and uncluttered!) and get things spruced up around here! We finally decided on a colour palette for my workshop so it's given us exactly what we needed to make things move! We will paint trim and walls next and then we will put down some new flooring (I am so excited for a new 'clean' look!)

Today was the much anticipated Creative Kids Luau! Sean has asked me every morning for the last few mornings "Is today the Lu Owww??" He had his Hawaiian shirt all picked out and even put it on yesterday he was so excited!

So here is some of my stuff all ready to go...
we used the flowers and neon straws to make Leis, we used Plastic Easter Eggs and filled them with dry pasta to make Marraccas then decorated them with some podge and bright tissue paper, we made flowers out of tissue for the girls' hair and made pins for the boys' shirts. Then we enjoyed a tropical smoothie and some tropical fruit for snack!

Here are the kids all dolled up! They had a great time! They especially enjoyed the special bag of tropical treats I sent home with everyone (you can see my little Palm Tree treat bags in the photo above). The Moms loved those too!

We will definitely have more themed events in the future as the children all LOVED the Hawaiian Theme!!!

Enjoy

More of the same...with a twist!

Well, I can't believe I am saying this but I am REALLY missing my photo editor on my old computer! This computer does not have a user friendly option that I can find so my cropping has become a bit of a disaster!

Here are 2 layouts you have already seen with pictures of Sean and some variations in paper and embellishments. It is so nice to be getting some scrapbooking done! What a treat!

Here is Sean in Port Dalhousie;

Supplies;
Paper: Primary Colours Simply Scrapping Kit was used for most of the paper and embellishments, Basic Black
Accessories: Silver Zig Painty Pen

Now here are my favourites shots of Sean in Balls Falls...he can be such a ham!

Supplies;
Paper: Pallet Pack, Primary Colours Simply Scrappin', Basic Black
Accessories: Silver Zig Painty Pen

These layouts are pretty simple but that's what is helping me catch up!

Falling for you...

Well, I got Sean's done on the weekend and now Sarah's layout for our trip to Sturgeon Falls in 2005 is done too! I just can't believe that we were there 2 1/2 years ago!!! The kids have changed so much since then!

I used the same Pencil Lines layout for Sarah's to keep things simple and changed the photos and the paper to make it Sarah's.

Here you see the simplicity of it all...

Supplies Used;
Paper: Ginger Blossom, Cameo Coral, River Rock, Ruby Red, Basic Black
Accessories: Mega Circle Punch, Giga Scallop Punch

Chocolate Dreams

Well, we had our Easter Creative Kids today and we did something that was new and exciting! Instead of decorating hardboiled eggs, we stepped out of the box and made our very own Easter Cream Eggs. I have to say they are quite marvelous...a little messy but yummy!!!

Today's activities are shown in the picture below;
  • Easter Treat Bag (we used a paper bag and did it up all nice!)
  • Jelly Bean Carrot (the kids loved this one, very quick and easy)
  • An Easter Egg Hunt (inside since we are only a few days into March and it's still pretty chilly!)
  • Easter Cream Eggs (you can find the recipe here)
  • And then everyone got to take home a bag of treats for their great egg hunting skills!
I think the kids all loved the activities and were looking forward eating the sweets when they got home!!!

Enjoy!

Creative Christmas

Well, I know there weren't a lot of posts in December so I thought I would share one of the projects I did do over the holidays. The kids just pulled these out this morning asking for the treats that are inside (yes, the Christmas Treats are still inside these!) So here goes, I made 7 of these in total as part of our place settings on Christmas Day.

Oh, you can find the tutorial here.

They were a big hit!

Supplies;
Paper: Dashing, Whisper White, Real Red
Accessories: Giga Scallop, Mega Circle, Real Red 3/8" Grosgrain, pony beads

Enjoy!

More Scrappin'

What can I say...I'm on a bit of a roll! It often seems to be feast or famine around here! After finishing Sean's 1st Birthday I was feeling all charged up and wanted to do another layout. I found this one on Pencil Lines and was very excited that it was a 2-page layout!

You will be seeing a similar layout for Sarah once I get more Black 12x12 paper (my 1st order of the year is coming in this week!!!) I have some different paper and of course photos in mind for her pages but am quite excited about getting them done...even if they are a little off-season!

Supplies Used;
Paper: Basic Black, Brocade Background (DP), Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Giga Scallop Punch, Mega Circle Punch

Enjoy!

Scrappin' Saturday!

I started this layout some time ago and got stumped as I couldn't find a 'Boy' paper that made me happy for this layout. So, instead of using Designer Papers, I used 'By Land' (retired SU!) to create a background paper and a few accents. I then lightly sanded the Brilliant Blue paper to take the 'new' look away from it and used some of my Evergreen DP paper along with Kraft Cardstock to complete the title on my Cricut with the Plaintin Cartridge.

I may be a little behind but hey, Happy 1st Birthday Sean (he's 3 now...) The layout for this one came from Pencil Lines (yes, I love that website!)

Supplies Used;
Stamps: By Land, Everyday Flexible Phrases
Ink: Real Red, Not Quite Navy, Glorious Green, Basic Black
Paper: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Winter Green DP, Kraft, Whisper White
Accessories: Pewter HodgePodge Hardware, Twill, Zig Painty Pen

Enjoy!
