Happy Birthday Mr. CB!

This post is also late...I have some serious catching up to do! You see Mr. CB's birthday is one month before Christmas. Exactly ONE month. So, you do the math.  I am late, again!

The highlight of his gift...my cousin went out with us and took photos of the kids...we framed these 3 for him to enjoy. Pretty sweet eh?

Next? I told him a colleague ordered a cake from me, showed it off to him throughout the entire process and guess what? He brought his own birthday cake to work and didn't know it...
So he enjoyed a vanilla cake with vanilla filling with his colleagues...
Then, after we madly rushed to the mall and printed the photos and got them into the frame I bought, we picked him up from work, went out for supper and enjoyed this cake...
I apologize for the crumby photos, I forgot to take some before we left the house and restaurant photos just never seem to work. Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Filling all covered in Chocolate Ganache. Rich goodness. Yum!

The last bit of his birthday? The Money Pit. Yep, I got him the movie hoping he would share a laugh with me as we often refer to our own home as The Money Pit. We watched it together and we laughed.

Enjoy!

This post is brought to you by...

Little Bull. You see I started planning Mr. CB's 40th birthday sometime ago. This post is written by and the photos are edited by Little Bull's owner Ann Marie.

--------------------------------

Little Bull starts with me, Ann Marie Torello-Arnott: designer, Mom, wife, mompreneur extrordonaire! I am a stay at home mom of two boys, living in Beamsville. My family, especially my kids, are my inspiration, my joy, my life-- Little Bull Designs is my passion.

I began designing for a family company, including brochures, business cards, company website, etc. Since then, I’ve designed both marketing and apparel designs, both through custom requests, as well as through my online stores.

The designs began as fun and sometimes whimsical for children and adolescent apparel and have since expanded to humorous adult wear and food allergy awareness apparel and accessories and many other genres.

I got into the food allergy awareness designs because both friends and family were suffering with food allergies. I believe the more we are aware of these issues in others, the more accessible the needs of our friends and family will become. Awareness is the first step.

Inspiration comes from all facets of my life-- children, friends, family, a funny shirt I see someone else wearing... And I think how can I make these events or things I see into a design others would love to share with me and the world?!? Now, depending if I’m designing for myself and my portfolio or a client, I handle the design process slightly differently. Every client is different. Some prefer me to go with their initial input and run with that idea; some prefer hands on designing with me along the way. Either way, I thoroughly enjoy the creation process. Creation begins with the client’s first meeting. We discuss what you are looking for-- not only design-wise, but also what products you are looking to design. Each product has different size specs and depending on what I’m designing, the more/less input I need from the client: including any research that may be needed to complete the project at hand. After the initial meet, either research begins or the design process begins. If the client requests, multiple design concepts can be initialized. Proofs are then created and can be presented to the client, either through e-mail or in another meeting. Once the proof is approved, the product is either created or ordered, if need be. Depending if the items need to be ordered, the production time can vary between 1-4 weeks. Delivery times also vary according to quantities that are ordered. Several delivery options are available, although my favourite is hand delivery-- my selfish choice-- because I love to see my client’s reactions when they view their ordered for the first time! It’s like watching a child open a gift at Christmas for me--wonder, awe and sweet delight.

Little Bull Designs are available several ways. As of November 18th, my products will be available through Willy’s FLowers and Gifts in Beamsville. But you can also purchase predesigned items through either of my online stores: www.cafepress.ca/littlebull or www.zazzle.ca/littlebulldesigns. For custom designs, you can contact me at littlebulldesigns@gmail.com. Thanks so much for supporting a local mompreneur! Thanks so much to Heather too, not only for supporting my company as an awesome client, but also allowing me this opportunity to share with you about my passion-- Little Bull Designs.

Another year older...

Yep, it's that time...time for our Big Birthday Bash!
After much deliberation and waffling, we decided to go with a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme for this years Big Birthday Bash (this covers all 3 of our children). So here goes...
The theme is nothing without the book...Eric Carle was onto something for sure! I made the older kids 4+ the bookmarks you see hanging around the table and the younger ones got the actual book.A friend of mine made me these fantastic labels...you can find more of her work on Facebook or on Zazzle. I love her Allergy T-shirts...I will be ordering the lactose intolerant ones for our boys soon!
We played a little pin the caterpillar on the apple...the caterpillars were made by Little Bull as well but I made the apple with the help of my Cricut. And finally, the cake...errr, cupcakes!
The weather was a little funny but we managed to enjoy most of the party outside. All of the photos in the post were taken by Stacy's Creations Photography. You should totally become a fan of hers on Facebook (tell her I sent you!) she does some amazing work and it's fun to watch all the wedding photos and baby photos pop up in your feed!

Enjoy!

A Very Hungry Caterpillar Celebration - this is only the beginning!

Well, I know some of you have been waiting to see this so I will show you some of the photos I took...I didn't take many so you will have to bear with me and wait for the final edits from our photographer just like us! But you can see some of her shots on her Facebook. We are so looking forward to seeing more!Anyway, here are our invitations...
...and the cupcakes...
We played pin the caterpillar on the apple!
it was blowy and the ground was uneven so it proved entertaining for the adults and the kids alike!
We also made t-shirts...and we loved those results but you will have to wait for the official photos for that! We had fun!

Enjoy!

Three Little Words...

Whew! I have been so busy lately! So many blog posts to catch up on! Maybe after this one you will get a day off...but then again, maybe not! ;)

I am was so happy to get a note from the Mom who asked for all of the Unicorn goodies telling me that Megan...a girl who I love even though I have never met (she likes surprise parties, fairies and unicorns...this girl is fabulous in my books!) had a fabulous party last weekend. So now it is time for three little words to be shared...
They are simple but effective words...
and important words too...
And thank you to you, all of my readers, my fans, my clients, my friends. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here. Creative Bug is having a fabulous year so far! This is one for the record books! We are building and growing and having fun! I am so very lucky and so very blessed.

Thanks so much.
Enjoy!

The loveliest of all was the unicorn...

There were green alligators and long necked geese...

I have been singing this song for weeks! I sang it while I made and mailed out these invites...

I sang it while I shopped for party supplies and some fun decorations! Isn't that balloon great? I can't wait to see photos of it all inflated! And the candles??? I don't know what makes them princess candles but I loved them because they go with the wand on the invitation perfectly!
I sang it while I made this banner (for a different party) with the coordinating papers!I sang it while I hand-made each of these cupcake toppers...I sang it while I cut, punched and coloured a sample of the shrink-art craft below...
I sang it while I coloured and decorated this 'Pin the Horn on the Unicorn' Game...
I had to try out the game...it's rather difficult to purposely not hit the target...should have just had the kids test it out!
I sang it while my Cricut diligently cut the letters and I put this sign together...

I will be singing it while I make the Thank You cards...I needed to post all of these goodies so the hostess has plenty of time to plan everything on her end!

I am so lucky!

Enjoy!
