Falling for you...one leaf at a time...

Yes, I am still at Community Living every week! Sometimes I forget to take photos and I did take August off because well, even I need to rest! ;)

In September we started to celebrate fall. First with Frosted Glass Votives and some Sweet Stamping...
See? We went rustic with some twine too!
Then the next week we went with an Apple Theme! We made apple crisp and homemade ice cream to go!
These little foil packets were just great so everyone could take some home!
It smelled so lovely there...mmmm...I think we are due for some crisp here now! ;)

Enjoy!

Happy Belated Birthday Canada!

I am sorry for the poor orientation of this photo...sometimes I turn my camera the wrong way...what can I say? I get excited!
We had a lot of fun creating these pages at Community Living!
But the favourite bit? The cupcakes of course!
To celebrate Canada Day at home we decorated t-shirts (can you believe I have no photos of this!) and We made Maple Leaf Pancakes - an annual tradition!
We love this plate...it reminds us of all that is important...we should all celebrate life - every day!
 Right Simon?

The fruit of summer!

A while back one of the regular participants at Community Living asked if we could make Rice Krispie Squares...well, I never take the easy way (well, rarely at least!) So we used Jello to dye the Rice Krispies and packed them in the outside of our pan...
Then we filled the centre in with red rice krispies (dyed with red jello) and added some chocolate chips...and that's how we made watermelon!
But that didn't fill our full time so we did some scrapbooking...
See how great they look together?
And we finished the day with some nice cold watermelon!
This was back in June but it is a lot of fun...you should definitely try it!

Enjoy!

Do you want fries with that?

Sometimes we get lucky...and today was one of those days for sure! I pulled together a fun workshop for Community Living with a Hamburger Theme that could easily be a Father's Day gift or just something fun to share with a friend.

First we got a cake, cupcakes and brownies in the oven...then while we waited we made Burger Cards (I got the idea for the cards here).
Next up? The cake was ready so we started making some fries!
And we cut our burgers, sliced our buns and set to work putting the condiments on!
See that? I even found some food baskets to put it all in!
We wrapped them all up, tied the card on and voila!
 Another great workshop!
I just love this card idea!
I hated choosing just one photo! Everyone enjoyed this workshop! It's fun making food into something new! Next I'll show you how we made our own watermelon! Another fun interpretation!

Enjoy!

Have a cuppa tea!

Any Great Big Sea fans out there? My kids love them (as do I!) One of their favourite songs is 'Have a Cuppa Tea'...it's a fun song that is easy to sing along to.

Anyway, as part of my Mother's Day projects at Community Living we made a Tea Wreath. You can find lots of versions of these on-line. I made my a little smaller and a little simpler but everyone loved it none the less!
I made a sample ahead of time so that they could see what I had planned (I don't always) so on my way home I hung my wreath on on a friend's porch. Can you see the little tea cup card I made to go with it?
She was pretty delighted to come home to this...

For the birds!

As Mother's Day is quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to do a number of crafts that the participants at Community Living could choose from to share with their moms...our first week we went with a bird theme...I need to get an action shot of my bird feeder but these are tea cup bird feeders that are setting.

Then we packed seed and gelatin into a form to make a hanging feeder. They will come out of the cupcake liners and you can hang them on a tree!

These were simple to make...and I am hoping we'll be able to enjoy some bird watching soon with ours!
Finally a bird card to go with the feeders! These really caught the Creative Princess' eye...they were so fun and colourful!
Here is my feeder in the garden...we just have to wait for it to be discovered now!
Enjoy!
