Have a cuppa tea!

Any Great Big Sea fans out there? My kids love them (as do I!) One of their favourite songs is 'Have a Cuppa Tea'...it's a fun song that is easy to sing along to.

Anyway, as part of my Mother's Day projects at Community Living we made a Tea Wreath. You can find lots of versions of these on-line. I made my a little smaller and a little simpler but everyone loved it none the less!
I made a sample ahead of time so that they could see what I had planned (I don't always) so on my way home I hung my wreath on on a friend's porch. Can you see the little tea cup card I made to go with it?
She was pretty delighted to come home to this...
Enjoy!

Get your Shrove On!

I don't think I have ever been wish a "Happy Shrove Tuesday" before but it happened several times this year! I was pretty excited to be at Community Living for Shrove Tuesday...how much better does it get? Really?

So, in the spirit of fun and creativity we made our own Pancake Mix (who needs that store-bought stuff anyway?)
AND we packaged it up! (See that? We even made a little card to go with it...)
Then, we decided...since it was Shrove Tuesday that the thing to do would be to try out our Pancake Mix and get our Shrove on! Look how fluffy!
 Good enough to eat!
These pancakes were a huge hit! Everyone enjoyed a little pre-lunch snack and then took some of the mix home to share with their families!

I saved my pancake appetite for later when I made Pina Colada Pancakes, bacon and hash browns for my Creative Family...mmmmm. It was a good day.

Enjoy!

Handmade Gift Series!

I am SO excited about November's HandMade Series! Oh my goodness! Did we ever have fun on Thursday (we ran terribly late but we got it all done!)  The Corker Bows were a huge hit but the felt flower and the wreath were fun too!
This week's theme is jewelry. We will stamp washers and create bird nest charms...there should be time to try 2 of each.
November 17th we will create a Stationary set (complete with a sweet little case) that you can give to someone sweet!
On November 24th we will make pie in a jar! I am SO excited about this. You can freeze them and then bake them from frozen! What a great gift for family and those single men in your life! ;) Or just to have on-hand for your family to enjoy!
Girls' Night Out is a relaxed evening full of camaraderie, chatter and crafting with girls from 7 to well, Grama CB comes but I won't disclose her age!

Oh and it's affordable too! Each workshop is $5-10 and you get to take something great home!

Enjoy!

Chills & Thrills at Girls' Night Out!

Our first night at Girls' Night Out was lots of fun! We stamped, we glittered, we rubbed and we glued! We had girls from 8 to well, I'm not telling but I was not the only adult in the room for a change!

Here is some of what we made (I did not take one photo during the evening...what can I say? I was busy!)

A witch's broom filled with treats, a spider web card and a pumpkin tag! All for only $5.
Next week we are going to make these wreaths. Join us for only $10 and you can have a great wreath for your door too!

Enjoy!

Something fishy is going on here!

I did a Stampin Up! Demonstration the other night (sorry, you didn't know I was a demonstrator too? I know, it is a lot to keep track of!) and I am ashamed to admit that I found a bit of Christmas Spirit and did a Rudolph card. But seriously...who doesn't love Rudolph???We used the Sweet Centres...I love those things! The ladies had a lot of fun making variations...
I love seeing what they come up with...
I mean...how cute are those lashes???
And the eyebrows??? I love these ladies...they keep me on my toes!

Looking forward to the next time!

A Very Hungry Caterpillar Celebration - this is only the beginning!

Well, I know some of you have been waiting to see this so I will show you some of the photos I took...I didn't take many so you will have to bear with me and wait for the final edits from our photographer just like us! But you can see some of her shots on her Facebook. We are so looking forward to seeing more!Anyway, here are our invitations...
...and the cupcakes...
We played pin the caterpillar on the apple!
it was blowy and the ground was uneven so it proved entertaining for the adults and the kids alike!
We also made t-shirts...and we loved those results but you will have to wait for the official photos for that! We had fun!

Enjoy!

The loveliest of all was the unicorn...

There were green alligators and long necked geese...

I have been singing this song for weeks! I sang it while I made and mailed out these invites...

I sang it while I shopped for party supplies and some fun decorations! Isn't that balloon great? I can't wait to see photos of it all inflated! And the candles??? I don't know what makes them princess candles but I loved them because they go with the wand on the invitation perfectly!
I sang it while I made this banner (for a different party) with the coordinating papers!I sang it while I hand-made each of these cupcake toppers...I sang it while I cut, punched and coloured a sample of the shrink-art craft below...
I sang it while I coloured and decorated this 'Pin the Horn on the Unicorn' Game...
I had to try out the game...it's rather difficult to purposely not hit the target...should have just had the kids test it out!
I sang it while my Cricut diligently cut the letters and I put this sign together...

I will be singing it while I make the Thank You cards...I needed to post all of these goodies so the hostess has plenty of time to plan everything on her end!

I am so lucky!

Enjoy!

Going Hollywood!

I am SO excited! In less than a week we will be celebrating some of the glamour of Hollywood at a birthday party! Ohhh, I LOVE a good theme and this is a great one! Here are the lanyards that we made to include with the invitations!
Hooray for Hollywood!

On another note, I was invited to join a Mom's Group for a few cards this past week. I tried to bring designs that would brighten their day...
I think I achieved that. I loved the creativity in the room! What a great bunch of ladies they were!

Christmas is around the corner...

Christmas is coming, Christmas is coming!
Oh dear...oh dear...oh....
Frosty the snowman sat on a wall,
Frosty the snowman had a great fall,
All Santa's reindeer
And all of Santa's elves,
Couldn't put Frosty together again...

So, they made another bunch of snowmen!

Aren't they the cutest thing eva?!

These will be turned into scrapbook pages after Christmas is over and added to the albums the kiddies will find under the tree this year (filled with pages that they have done over the last year...I am so proud of them and their hard work!)Finally, it's the march of the penguins! How cute are these? I love that Sean felt the need to print his name on the nose of his penguin!!!
Kids are peculiar beings...

Enjoy!

Just Buzzin' By!

WAY back in the spring I was asked if I would do some invitations for a little boy who loves bugs (already he and I have something in common!) His birthday is in October so as we started getting closer I made some samples. It's always interesting making samples...cause you try to guess which they will choose...
Well, sorry for the photo here...the colour is a little off. I didn't guess right this time...oh well, they sure are cute aren't they?
Here is my favourite part...I am becoming quite good at these little rhymes. I really enjoy writing them. It's just too fun! Hehe!
Enjoy!

Celebrate Life...

When God closes a door, a window opens...

We have spent this week remembering Martin's Granddad. Our childrens' Great Granddad. We didn't see him a lot but with his recent death the kids have had so many questions so we figured who better to answer them and spend some time with us but our minister.

So we ate together, we prayed together and we lit candles together...

Sarah and Sean each made a candle to light and I made one for Simon so they would each have a memento by which to remember him. God Bless.

And here is our window...I have spent the last few weeks trying to catch up...I am still miles behind but I am sure you know what I mean! Anyway, I am proud to say they are up...
We have a complete set of hand and footprints. Simon's are 2 months later than Sarah and Sean's but they are there and you can't even tell! ;)

Finally, the ultimate representation of life...these invitations are for a friend of mine. She called me in a panic wanting something for her daughter's butterfly birthday party...
I spent some time getting the writing just right but I really wanted to have 'Flutter by for Jenna's' follow the curve of the wing. I wish I was doing the whole party! I love this stuff!
Well, the kiddies are quiet and I have some work to do so off I go!

Enjoy!
