All Lined Up!

I bought the Scientific Seamstress Judy's Fancy Pants some time ago but never quite got around to making them but since I made lined pants for the boys, the Creative Princess was after equal treatment! I was a bit later than I would have liked getting to these...BUT...it has been a long cold winter so I am sure she will get some good wear out of them this year and they should fit her next year too! 

The Creative Princess loves these pants! She wears them as often as she can...

Let's Hear it for the Boys!

Yes! I DO sew for the boys too! There just aren't as many patterns being released for them as there are for girls and women! And in this case, I am revisiting some favourite patterns that I've made quite a few times so here goes...

Check out those pants! They are Scientific Seamstress' Field Research Pants with a major adjustment...I lined them with fleece! My boys absolutely love these pants! This guy is also wearing his Scientific Seamstress Bowling Shirt. They are such a great way to use fun prints! And he's layered his Patterns for Pirates Jolly Roger Raglan underneath because, baby it's cold outside!

Did I mention this was Superhero Day? My little guy is also wearing the cape I made him so long ago...all 3 of my kids have one and they are reversible! Definitely worth the sewing time!

Here's a better look at that Patterns for Pirates Jolly Roger Raglan. This shirt was part of our Halloween costumes this year but I made them so the kids could wear them again and again. I do try to be practical when it comes to those things!

These patterns were all purchased by me and I love them all!

Fabrics: Wovens - I've seen them done in quilting cottons but I like a nice twill or bottom weight fabric.
Difficulty: These are truly what you make of them depending on the options you choose...I would say they start at Adventurous Beginner and go on from there!

Pattern: Bowling Shirt, Scientific Seamstress
Sizes: 6months-12 years
Fabrics: Wovens. This is where you can use those quilting cottons!
Difficulty: Adventurous Beginner. If you can do button holes (or snaps) you've got this!

Pattern: Jolly Roger Raglan, Patterns for Pirates
Sizes: 3months - 14 years
Fabrics: Knits
Difficulty: Beginner! You can make this!

My Momma Didn't Make This!

I have been SO lucky lately!!! I mean seriously?! When Everything Your Momma Made put up a shout out to test their latest pattern I was just finishing up another test for myself (more about that another day) when I decided to throw in my stitch ripper!

This test was a secret surprise because it was part of the Sew Fab Sewing Bundle...so I've had this ready to go for almost a month!!!

When I saw the pattern I immediately decided it was going to be my goto Christmas Dress! So...I went shopping and did not find at all what I was looking for...I found this fabulous damask fabric instead! And seriously? How could I not buy it?! So fabulous, am I right?

And when it was all done...I figured out that one of my most favourite (sadly, underused) necklaces was a perfect accessory for the outfit.

And it snowed...adding even more fun to our photoshoot!

Now I'm going to tell you about this pattern...

1. I love it!
2. It is meant for knits but Kymy from Everything Your Momma Made makes it easy to make this happen!
3. It is definitely in the beginner range of sewing ability...no buttons, no zippers...
4. It goes together so quickly! 
5. It's very versatile! I will be making a more casual version soon because it's a bit much to wear around the house...
