Christmas Craftiness

I booked a group to come to my workshop for some Christmas Crafts awhile back...the only requests were cupcakes and maybe a card. I love that. Sooo...I get to choose the crafts? They can be old or new? Great!

In this case, they is a bit of old and new...we made our cupcakes and later decorated them to be reindeer (unfortunately, we were tight on time so they were pretty rushed.)
We also made Santa Belly Lanterns and Penguin Cards.
I had so much fun with this group! They were a riot to have in my workshop...and very conscientious crafters too!
Here are my samples...
Sarah was eyeing up my lantern on the mantle the other day...

Sarah: Mummy, I really like that lantern.
Me: Thank you Sarah.
Sarah: Mummy, do you think we could do that lantern in Creative Kids?
Me: We are done our Christmas Creative Kids for this year Sarah.
Sarah: But maybe we could do it next year?
Me: Maybe Sarah.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who loves making these lanterns...we are getting quite a collection of them! We have now made Pumpkins, Ghosts, Snowmen and of course, our latest, the Santa Belly!

Enjoy!

He's hired!

Well, after Sean woke up to the smell of fresh baked banana cake the other day, Simon and I decided we better make it up to everyone with a little treat of our own...so we got out The Happy Baker and chose Toffee Cracker Goodness as the recipe of the morning.
Simon got straight to work! And this is his work...yes, my 2 year old is lining the crackers up that nicely!
I got the butter and brown sugar going...we changed our plan and redid the crackers with parchment underneath (just in case...)
Simon is ready with the chocolate!
His job was to spread the chocolate and almonds...so much for those nice tidy crackers!
And the perks of the job!
Simon only helps when the treats are for consumption in our own house...but he sure does love helping!!!

Enjoy!

The Little Mermaid...

I always get excited when someone comes up with a theme we haven't done before...and I have to say, if I had red hair like this little one I would totally consider myself Ariel. Hands down.
We started off with cupcakes and then had a quick lunch. Then it was time for Shrink Art!
I didn't have much time for photos...we were busy! We decorated our cupcakes...
And sang Happy Birthday!
We also decorated some mini-scrapbooks. There were some really fun ideas floating around the table.
The birthday girl started to write a story about a brown-haired mermaid...I was happy for a little brunette appreciation (brunettes are often forgotten in fairy tales)!

It was a great afternoon! I had fun and so did my newest helper.

Enjoy!
